I tried to kill the pain but only brought more,
I lay dying and I'm pouring crimson regret and betrayal. Grey, again, and Jasper felt like it almost reflected his mood. Ever since the Volturi had let Newborn go, he had been worried. Not over the life of Newborn, all she seemed to do was mop around. But he was worried about what part she had to play. Surely the Volturi were using her as a prawn, in a complicated game of chess, where lives were at stake. Jasper couldn't afford to loose this game, this particular battle. If he lost, Alice would be at stake, and he couldn't risk her life. His meant nothing compared to his mate. Newborn, however presented a problem. She had been in the family for a while, but he didn't really bother to learn her name or use it. She was more likely to die than anything else.
So the dark thoughts had caused Jasper to head away, to Seattle, were this newborn had come from. At first he had been thinking about digging to see if he could find anything more out about Newborn. Her emotions were disturbing, like she had loved and lost someone. It was dreadful to be in the house with those emotions, it had him feel like he had lost Alice. It didn't make sense at all. Newborns didn't feel emotions other than thirst and anger. They couldn't develop to feel love. It was against everything he had ever learnt, everything he had seen amoung the armies of the South. But his thoughts were no longer the same dark thoughts, they were lighter for he had turned to a more positive thought amoung this place.
Alice. He never could suprise her, as Alice could see the future and anything that was going to happen went immediatly to her thoughts and vision. So, Jasper was wondering around, looking for something perfect. He had only considered this lately as he was considering the best way to supprise his wife. However, she would probably know by now. Even though Jasper himself had no idea what he was going to get for Alice. Sighing, Jasper looked through the clothes wondering which ones would be more suitable for Alice. Sometimes he was really at a lose to get the correct clothes. Maybe he would be able to get her something else which was on the whole more interesting. Silently, Jasper left the shop and looked for something perfect for his mate.

He had been out of the house tonight. He to was looking for a gift for his sister. This party idea might do Alice some good. She was always throwing other people parties and such. It was like she was screaming out, 'What about me?' and Edward heard her say that once in her mind. But she was never going to say it out loud. So here he was in the city of Seattle looking for a gift for his sister that could over see any thing. She probably saw this coming as well. But Edward didn't care. He knew what his sister liked. And she loved to shop above all other things out there.
He happened to find a jewelry store and got a pretty necklace he was certain she would love before she opened it. It wasn't much. But he knew she would love it none the less. He walked out of the jewelry store and started to head back to his car...When he got to his Volvo he unlocked the car and got in the drivers side seat. He sat there for a moment. After he placed the present in the passenger seat beside him. He had a lot of thought wondering through his mind lately. And now that it was dark enough and not too many people around, he could think.
His life was so not the same...He turned on the radio and a song called, 'Come on Get Higher' By: Matt Nathanson played lowly. He abstinently left it playing. It reminded him of Bella. He missed her so much it was driving him a bit crazy. But then he remembered Ginny. Ginny was different from Bella. For one thing the girl was a hybird. Which was rare around here. But he was in love with two women that was his major problem at the moment. Why was it so hard to pick one or the other? Jasper knew. He knew what Edward was going through. Even Alice knew...
He turned the radio off...And just sat there as he thought about the two women he loved the most at this moment in his vampire life. Which one would be forever? That was the question. He knew he had let this thought go and focus on good things so he started his car up and pulled out of the parking lot he was parked at. His hour on the meter was over any way. He sure did not need a ticket. So he needed to call Jasper to let him know he found the perfect gift that from him....And so he picked up his cell phone and started to call his brother...

I tried to kill the pain but only brought more,
I lay dying and I'm pouring crimson regret and betrayal. Jasper was never one for shopping, even if his wife enjoyed constantly dragging him out to choose new outfits. Understand shopping seemed to be something that Jasper would never aquire. Of course, he had been born nearly two centuries ago, so he had never been forced to learn such things. And even now it wasn't something that males were expected to know or understand. Yet he was no longer human, so he couldn't use that as an excuse to his lack of understanding in the shopping area.
Going into a book store, Jasper looked around, he was much more at home amoung this sort of thing. As he was breezing through the book, seeing if there was anything interesting, anything that might be good for Alice, Jasper found a book, seperated from the others. The cover was done in a beautiful rich purple velvet, which was the colour of royalty. The rim of the book was decorated with what appeared to be precous stones, like emeralds, rubies and sapphires. The tittle was inscribed in gold, and the writing was neat and curly. A Book of Everything and in a red circle around this there appeared to be diamonds. The book was in a glass case and jasper could see that each page was tipped with gold leaf. He looked at the blurb which was printed infront of the book, no one could touch the book unless they had brought it.
The book appeared to be very interesting and it did appear to be about everything. It went from myths and legends to clothes and fashion. Things that were always changing, yet also held steady. It even had a philosophy section. Jasper decided that this book as about as far as he'd be able to get for a good present to Alice. Clothes were just out of his legue and, make-up and jewlry were also a bit too baffiling for the former solider.
Turning to the shop owner, Jasper asked how much did the book cost. She told him, and also mentioned how she had been unsure if the head of the bookshop could sell it. Jasper said that he was looking for a very special gift for a very special person and she agreed that it was special, their were curently only ten of them in the world, all first edition. Jasper smilied and brought the book, he easily had the amount of money needed on him. The Cullens were extremely rich, a luxury he had not had in the South. Then it had always been stealing if something was needed. And now that he had a new life, Jasper did not want to fall back towards the old way.
Carrying the book carefully, Jasper considered ringing a taxi so he could return to his home. He didn't want to ruin the book. After considering his options, Jasper decided to buy a breif case that he coud slip the book into. It would need to be a waterproof breifcase, it was bound to rain at some point. It didn't take the battle scarred vampire long to get a breifcase, and he knew he could reuse it. There was plenty of times when a breif case could be needed. Slipping the book, wrapped in cotton and the bag (It had to be kept safe), Jasper silently started to move towards the boundries of Seattle when his phone started to ring.
Getting out his mobil, which Jasper had hidden in his pocket, he looked at the caller, it was Edward. For a second, Jasper thought about what Edward might have to say, and then he accepted the call. "Hello, Edward." Jasper smilied pleasantly, moving under shelter as rain started to fall. He couldn't stand outside in the rain, it would attract attention. The humans became more reckless in the rain, and Jasper could see the minuet change in pace as they hurried towards their distination. If it got heavier, then it would be harder to see. Maybe that was a reason why the newborns had thrived so well here. "What can I do for you?"

"Hello, Edward." "What can I do for you?" "Hey listen, So I found a gift for Alice. I just wanted to see if you were busy or not so I could show. and get your opinion on it. What do you say we get together somewhere?" He asked him in a soft voice as he turned the volume down on his radio as he drove on down the road. He really saw no purpose in trying to surprise Alice. She could see most things ahead of time. But he did not want to disappoint his brother. He remembered the party Alice held for Bella on her 18th birth day. And though Jasper tried to maintain his control he just lost it that night. Though with good reason.
He knew his brother felt bad about trying to hurt Bella though. And he knew Jasper was kicking himself in his own ass for that. But what is done is done. And they all can move on for now. Things have been different with Bree and Ginny living in the home. But honestly, Edward kept a constant eye on Jasper when ever he was around either of them. He could say the same about Bella. But it was like she wasn't around any more. She hung out with all the wolves more than she did with him. And it was getting to the point that Edward was questioning her devotion to him...If she really wanted what she said she did, then she would leave the wolves well enough alone and be with him right now.
But that is apparently not the case with her. But still, there was very little Edward could to do when Bella wasn't around. He did think at some point that he should just end it with Bella. If she wanted to have him and a friendly life with the wolves then it was going to be hard on her. Especially when she was turned. There were a lot of things to consider with that as well. Apparently Edward's thoughts got out of control when he was alone....

I tried to kill the pain but only brought more,
I lay dying and I'm pouring crimson regret and betrayal. Listening, the phone near his ear, Jasper heard the words Edward was saying and he smilied. "I have been shopping for Alice as well. Are you also in Seattle?" Jasper asked over the phone. If they were to get together and were both in Seattle, it would be pointless headong back towards home. The rain was coming down heavily now, and Jasper could see it rickiting off the frabric of umbrellas that humans had put up in an effort to avoid getting soaking. If Edward was in Seattle it would be raining where he was as well and Jasper listened to see if he could hear any rain over the phone, but the sounds around him were a lot louder.
Jasper guessed if they were planning some sort of party for Alice, Bella would be invited and so would Ginny. Remembering the last party that had human blood in one of the addenders, Jasper almost shivered, which would of been a human thing to do, considering the rain. He had almost killed Bella that time and then been the catoclipsim that confirmed Edward's fears about Bella being around vampires and caused the whole family to move. Then Bella and Edward had almost got killed and Alice had come too close to the Volturi's grasp, and all of this lay on Jasper's shoulders, although he never spoke this out loud. Jasper kept those thoughts as hidden as possible as well. He didn't want to have his family telling him how it wasn't his fault.
Sometimes it was hard to cope with the bloodlust, and when jasper failed, he was always depressed, however, one of the hard parts was how accepting the family was, even though it was something that was obviously going to happen from time to time, they never gave harsh words to the battle scarred vampire, even when it was him, constantly failing. Sometimes Jasper wished that they would shout at him for the failure he had done again, questioned him about why he tried to keep up like this when it was only him that failed too much.
"I'm near the edge right now." Jasper told Edward, wondering where his brother would want to meet up, evidentally, Jasper could not go very far in this weather without causing suspecion, but Jasper wasn't sure if Edward had brought his car or not. They would have to reach a mutual position. _______________________________________________ Word count: Tags:Edward Outfit:Smart but casual Lyrics: Evanescence-Tourniquet Notes:None

"I have been shopping for Alice as well. Are you also in Seattle?" "As a matter of fact yes. I am in Seattle..."He confessed. And turned on his wind shield whippers.....As it started pouring down rain. But that never stopped his driving fast. He could see ten times the average human. "I'm near the edge right now." "I'm on my way..." He sped up the Volvo and headed to exactly where Jasper said he was. To what it sounded like on the other end, Jasper was not in a car. The rain was pretty hard. As he pulled up to the side walk the passenger side door was opened by the little button he had on his key chain...."You like standing in the rain?" He asked his brother.
He was just glad that he was able to found his brother. He grabbed his present off the seat and let Jasper get in from the rain. Edward put his car in park and just leaves the motor running for the radio. "So let's see this present you have for your girl..." He said softly as he turned the radio down sightly. He was trying to help his brother the best way he could. He looked Jasper over. And especially at his eyes. He had to make sure his brother was alright at all times. It wasn't because he could not trust Jasper at all. It was basically because he was worried his brother would slip. It's not like it had not happened before. Where Edward had to be there for his brother. And honestly Edward did not mind it at all.

Yo Ho, haul together, Hoist the colours high, Heave Ho, Theives and Beggars, Never Shall We Die! Jasper waited silently for Edward's words, watching as the rain came down in torrents. Jasper remembered how he had been unnerved by being out in the daylight hours, and no, here he was, spending most of the time away from the house out in the day. This family had taught him a lot and things were sometimes easier, living in such a large coven. Of course, this also made things harder sometimes. But the odd squabbles weren't as bad as the fights newborns got themselves in.
"Seattle is a good place to go for shopping." Jasper said softly as he heard Edward's voice confessing where the bronze haired vampire was. Of course, it wasn't the shopping that had brought Jasper here, it had been him worrying about the newborn they had adopted into the family. But he could never gain answers from the echoes of where the murders had taken place. It was all a mystery and he could never see what had happened. But the ghosts that had haunted this town, the deaths, were gone, all apart from one. And that single one now lived with the family that she had been created to kill.
It wasn't long before Jasper saw a silver Volvo pull up along the road and stop by him. Jasper ended the call on the phone now, as it was pointless to remain on the phone. "Not many other places to stand." Jasper shrugged in reply to Edward's question. Watching the movement inside the car, the former Confederate saw Edward move the present to make room for Jasper. Gratefully, Jasper got into the car and out of the rain. It wasn't as if he minded the rain, it was just good to remain inconspicuous. Pushing his wet hair out of his pale face, Jasper turned to look at the vampire beside him.
A small smile flickered across Jasper's face as Edward asked to see the present that Jasper had brought. Opening the waterproof briefcase, jasper took out the bag and carefully removed the book. "I thought about clothes and jewellery, but I have to admit that I am a bit out of my depth in that sort of thing." Jasper explained, knowing that it might seem a bit weird to get a book for someone who loved clothes with such a deep passion as Alice.
Dark honey scotch eyes looked at Edward as the bronze haired vampire looked over the battle scarred one. Often, Jasper felt like his family were keeping too much of a close watch on him. However he knew it was for his own good, so he wouldn't slip up and claim crimson eyes instead of the golden eyes that marked him as part of his family, the vegetarian vampires. The blonde haired vampire waited quietly for Edward to reply, or make a comment about how stable his condition was. Jasper knew he hadn't hunted in a week, and that wasn't pushing it was much as he had done before. Two weeks was when he really struggled with having humans near him, when his eyes were deadly black. However, Jasper knew that it was very often hit or miss when blood flowed into the air, even when he had golden eyes.

"Not many other places to stand." "I thought about clothes and jewellery, but I have to admit that I am a bit out of my depth in that sort of thing."
Edward nodded it was understandable from Jasper that he was that way. He was the creative one. So it was no surprise when Edward looked at the book that was handed to him to analyze over. He sure did like it. "Jasper I think she will love this...It came from you. That's all that matters." He said as he closed the book up and handed it back to his brother. Edward's own golden brown eyes scanned his brother's. Yes they were still the same as his. That was a relief. The thing was, Edward trusted his brother. He was only doing what he was asked. And that was to keep his eye on his brother.
Edward hated doing this. He trusted Jasper. But if he had to fight him to keep him from drinking any human blood then Edward would most definitely do so. He's proven so in the past. Though Edward himself hated himself for ever hurting his brother like he had. But it was necessary that he had. When Bella's life was on the line. That was all in the past though. Edward was amazed that his brother was able to handle himself around humans better. Hell he was out here alone at night in a busy city that crawled with humans. He looked Jasper over. No sign uneasiness. Nothing in his mind about that either. Unless his brother was hiding it very well.
"When was the last time you had a drink?" He asked out loud? He knew his brother would not like to talk about it. But it had to be asked. That was some thing Edward ha d to ask. He remembered a few weeks back, he and Jasper went on a hunting trip...But that was a while back. Surely Jasper had enough since to have blood after that. Edward then looked at the present he got Alice. He was having second thoughts. "Maybe I need to create some thing for her instead of buying some thing she has so much of already..." "Write her a song...That is perfect! I can do that instead...." And with that he headed back to the jewelry store....He parked by the store...Good at least they were open still....He opened his car door and looked back at Jasper..."I'll be right back buddy....Hold on...." He walked in the store and got a refund....

Yo Ho, haul together, Hoist the colours high, Heave Ho, Theives and Beggars, Never Shall We Die! Jasper smilied at Edward, his brother was the more creative out of the family, the one who could often be found compossing peices of music on the piano. Of course, Jasper knew how the music effected each memeber of the family. Bella was always delighted and soothed by Edward's playing and Esme enjoyed, Jasper guessed becuase it gave her some sort of insight into how Edward was feeling. But Jasper was no mind reader, so he could never be certain that he was correct in his thoughts.
Dark eyes watched slowly as Edward looked over the book, waiting for the verdict, Jasper hoped his lack of creativity had not clouded his mind. "That's good, then. I guess I am more of a book person, though." Jasper smilied as he carefully picked the book up and returned it to the packaging and breifcase. When he was finnished with the task, Jasper turned to look at his brother and saw Edward's eyes checking him. The former soldier knew that this was all for safety reasons, but he struggled with reasoning the safety reasons behind it. Jasper knew that he sometimes even snapped at Alice when e was having a bad day.
Regarding his brother curiously, Jasper wondered what it would be like to hear thoughts, it would be very interesting to know everything that someone was thinking, and very useful. But with every power there were downsides, and Jasper knew that Edward did not wish to hear the voices of every person, and wished to block out the voices of his family, out of coutersy. The empath's power had draw backs as well. Jasper could ot tell the cause behind the emotions, and they constantly battered him. He did not just live in a climate, he lived in two. One was the real world and the other was an emotional climate, constantly testing him along with his bloodlust.
"A roughly a week ago, maybe a few more days. I plan on going to hunt soon." Jasper said, looking down. He really hadn't planned to spend time amoung humans and although it wasn't too painful, it was distracting. Jasper just tried to hide that, he didn't want anyone to know how the blood tempted him. He guessed that in a few days it would get unbareable and that he would have to hunt. So either tomorrow to the day after seemed like a good day to choose, even though he wasn't pushing himself. That was were Jasper wanted to go, to try and stretch himself to be as good as them.
The blonde haired vampire was trying to hide the fact that he was getting annoyed about Edward checking that he wasn't thirsty and about to murder the whole street. He knew it was for his own good, but it constantly annoyed him. That was why Jasper was thinking about when he should hunt, there was so much to think about to try and keep the annoyance off his mind. Jasper shrugged at Edward's next words. "Alice does love things that are made for her." he spoke allowed.
Jasper watched as Edward walked into the store, his dark eyes following the form of the vampire that was almost swallowed up in the rain. Jasper then looked ahead and watched as the rain fell, staying inside the car. All the thoughts about the bloodlust was making him more nervous that he might slip up and he was coming close and closer to decided that he would hunt tomorrow instead of leaving it off. His eyes noticed a human shuffiling past along the road, heading back home, and Jasper wished that he could live like that, in innocence, not haivng to have death constantly hanging over him, waiting for him to slip up and murder someone.

He walked in to get his refund and came back out as he bumped into some mindless human. That never apologized to him. Edward just shook it off. Humans were like that now these days. He wished that some times that his time era had not changed. There were times he wished he could just go back in time. But that was not the case. He was a vampire not a time traveler. As he started to walk on he smelt some thing off. That guy that had bumped in to him had an odd odor to him. And when the gun was pushed in his side Edward just sighed. But he never forgot about Jasper. "Let's go...Make a scene and I shoot you right here and now..." The guy obviously picked the wrong 17 year old to mess with. Edward looked at Jasper with a plea of help!
And soon the man shoved him off in to a dark alley that was pretty far from the car. And when they had got there the man shoved Edward hard against the wall...."Trust me! You've made the wrong move mister...." Edward would attack but he was not wanting to fight. Edward hated fighting. Everyone knew that from the moment they all met each other. And Jasper would know that what would happen if he did not fight back. The thief had that look in his eyes. This was not Edward's first time to be victimized. As the man searched his coat for his wallet Edward remained calm. But he was more worried about Jasper. He knew his brother would take action....
He felt the man's greasy hand on his throat as he was pinned there against the wall, and when he got a hold of the kids wallet he put it in his pocket. "Nothing personal kid..." At that moment he fired the gun! And fired twice! As he did he backed away. And started to run off when Edward fell to the ground. He closed his eyes as he faked death. He just hoped that Jasper had enough control to not get involved....

Yo Ho, haul together, Hoist the colours high, Heave Ho, Theives and Beggars, Never Shall We Die! As he waited, Jasper saw Edward appear out of the shop and bump into the human. This caused Jasper to worry, being that close to a human would be almost impossible to him, and very likely impossible to him right now. But Edward had better control, Jasper was sure that his brother wouldn't give into the thirst. But, just incase, Jasper kept a close eye on his bronze haired brother in case something went wrong.
Just then, Jasper saw the flash of a gun and the human pointed it at Edward. jasper snarled under his breath, the human was stupid, how did he think he could get away with it. However, Jasper wasn't sure whether he should leap to his brother's defense. A fight with a human was the last thing he needed. As soon as blood was spilt.... then the former soldier saw Edward's pleaing gaze and he almost got out at once, however, if a fight did break out and he did drink the human's blood, this was too public. But his brother needed help. Jasper found himself in a dilema.
The human moved away and Jasper got up hurried and slipped out of the car, hoping that no one would break in and steal Alice's present. Silently, he followed the scent of Edward, keeping to his brother's path instead of the human otherwise it would be too much like hunting. Then he might not even get the chance to try and keep everything safe. Turning into the alley, Jasper looked at the scene before him, of the human robbing Edward and Jasper wondered why his brother didn't move in self defense.
Deliberating on whether or not to step in, Jasper was too late and he heard the gunshots clearly. Edward now lay on the floor, pretending to be dead, and Jasper's eyes lay on the human. He was already thinking. He'd either have to let the man shoot him and pretend to be dead. But then the human would be sure to search him. Then the human's hands would be close, searching his pocket, and the blood would be so close to him. The thought almost made Jasper shiver. As the human started to run towards him, Jasper considered what to do. He guessed he should be able to disarm this man.. but then what? The only thing Jasper was certain of was that he couldn't let.
The human finally stopped when she saw jasper and he pointed the gun at him, expertly, jasper disarmed the man, tossing the gun onto the ground. Jasper sent a wave of fear through the man, and tried to ignore the other emotions that the human was feeling. Jasper didn't want to know. The human backed away and was now obviously sizing up his opponent. If this got into a fist fight, jasper knew he would almost surely slip up. jasper didn't know whether to ask Edward for help or not. Jasper's eyes flickered towards the man's pulse for a second.

There were many reasons he would not attack. He wanted to. He just was scared that if he had attacked he would have killed. And if he had killed he would become some thing he dreaded to be. A monster. He laid there on the ground. He heard it all and knew his brother was taking care of the now situation. He was not the type to attack like Jasper could. He knew though that if his life was on the line. Then Jasper would take over and handle it. He then felt the bullets being dissolved by his venom. That's how powerful he was. He could take a lot of bullets and not die! He hated being shot though. The process of healing took a while. That was another reason he hated fighting. He hated seeing the healing process take affect. This was one reminder that he was not human...
But there was so much that Edward could do and that was to stop his brother from making a big mistake! He stood up and shook his head no at Jasper. He was warning the vampire that if he did any thing rash then this guy's blood would not only be on Jasper's hands but his as well. Edward saw the sudden fear in the man's eyes. He knew it was Jasper's power. As he walked up to the man from behind him and he grabbed the man's arms and pulled it back till he felt the bone snap....The thief screamed as his head arched back! Edward did not want to do this. But it had to be done. He pulled the man away from his brother. "Jasper I think he's scared enough as it is...He knows too much about us...He has to be stopped...." This was so not like Edward as Jasper would plainly see that.
The sudden thought of killing hit his mind as he read this guys thoughts. "You like killing teenage kids huh? You are indeed one sick person!" That might have sent Edward over the edge. That this man was indeed a serial killer! So he had to be taken care of some how...And who better to take care of this other than a few vampires? "Jasper...Kill him...I'm allowing you to kill him...He's a killer!" "What?" Edward ignored the man. He was "SHUT UP! Look either you kill him or I kill him!! He's killed innocent children!" The very thought was disgusting and it was wrecking his brain! He was about to sink his teeth right in the guy's neck! This man deserved a much more worse way to die than being bitten. He did not deserve to be bitten...But the memories in this man's mind was driving Edward crazy! As he looked at the veins popping out of the man's chest when he arched that head back...He without word sunk his teeth in the man's neck! This of course would shock Jasper.....But this was not the first time this had happened....

Yo Ho, haul together, Hoist the colours high, Heave Ho, Theives and Beggars, Never Shall We Die! Another glance towards his brother, as Jasper tried to figure out what to do, whether to attack or get out of here. Edward was standing up and shaking his head, telling him not to, and Jasper's eyes flickered towards the human again, down to the pusle and back to Edward. Blinking, Jasper tried to make sense of what Edward was trying to tell him, maybe it was that the blood would be on both their hands. Or maybe it meant that Edward didn't want his brother to slip again. Jasper was no mind reader.
Then, Edward was byt the human and breaking his arm, Jasper's eyes narrowed, this wasn't like his brother, Edward was usually the more peaceful. "Edward..." Jasper said softly, sending some calm emotions towards the bronze haired vampire, wondering what was going to happen. Just Edward's words chilled him. Was Edward saying that they should kill this human, if any blood flowed, Jasper knew that he would loose it. But Rosalie had murdered without spilling blood, did Edward mean like that?
Dark golden eyes flickered to Edward as the bronze haired vampire's emotions went wild, and Jasper wondered why. Then, Edward said the reason. He had read the human's mind and found out that this human had murdered, killed children. This was a change of things, but that didn't mean that they should murder. Wouldn't it be better to knock him out and get the police? The thoughts ran through Jasper's mind as he tried to process what Edward was saying.
"Jasper... Kill him... I'm allowing you to kill him..." The words almost seemed plucked straight out of Jasper's past. He could clearly hear Maria's voice whispering that in his ear, telling him to do it, to murder. His arms started to shake as he tried to fight the order. But the order was so strong, being told to him today and back when he was under Maria's command, when he was nothign but her puppet. Trying to tense his muscles trying to remain under his own control. But it was so easy to hear Maria's words whispering those words to him, so easy to remember her scent and his actions. He had leapt forward to kill the human and drained them dry. Every inch of Jasper was screaming to do this again.
Just then, Jasper saw Edward Edward moving forwards to take his prey and Jasper snarled harshly, moving into a crouch straight away without thinking. Using his strength he ripped the human away from Edward and clutched the human tightly and ran several meteres away before pushing himself up and onto some buildings and a safe distance from Edward. Then, Jasper sunk his teeth into the neck where there was already a gapping wound and he sighed as the human blood finally touched his tounge and went down his throat.
Growling as a warning incase any vampire attempted to come to close, Jasper hurried drank the blood and shivered as it made his throat feel better. The taste was loverly and he wanted more of it. His hands tightened possesivly around the body as he drank heavily, keeping his senses open so if any vampire came he would know and would be able to keep his prey to himself. He would kill anyone else who tried to get at his prey. Jasper wasn't even aware that his eyes were turning red rapidly as he hurriedly drank the human dry.
Too soon, the human had no blood left and Jasper looked at the body. All his training told his to dispose of it, make it look like an innocent accident. Carrying the body back to the alley, he dropped them down and listened with satisfaction as the thump echoed. Jasper then sat down on the roof, looking very wild, still not over the bloodlust. He was soaked from the heavy rain and it kept pouring down. The soldier's hair was matted and pressed against his ice cold skin. Wild red eyes flickered across the seen around him, and it was uncertain whether he was looking for another victim or for an attacker. He sat cross legged, like a soldier, ready to spring to action and kill.

"Edward..."
Before he knew he was knocked to the ground at a great force by his brother's hand. Pushing him away from the human obviously. Edward was not all there at the moment. But when he was pushed so hard on the wet ground he woke up! From what he had a feeling would happen if he got into his brother's mind way too deep! Maria. She was suppose to be dead. But to Jasper her words were very much alive! And that scared Edward more than any thing. And when he managed to gather his own thoughts in his mind, his brother was no where in sight. "Jasper..." He said lowly as he stood to his feet. He pulled out his cell to call the first available Cullen in his list.
But he hesitated. He did not want them to find out about this just yet. There was Alice to consider that she might seen some thing. But Edward was more worried about his brother at the moment. The calmness that was poured over his body by Jasper was enough to calm him down and make him think clear. As he started to smell the fresh blood on a roof top not far from where he was. He knew what was going on. And that was when Edward made certain there were no humans around to see him leap up to the roof his brother was on...He found Jasper. Drinking the blood of a human. And Edward felt responsible. He was crazy to go up against Jasper. Especially when he knew his brother was not all there at the moment...
But he had to stop this at once....With a cautious step, he walked forward towards his brother...."Jazz...Wake up buddy. This is your brother talking. Let him go please." He with a gentle hand placed his hand on Jasper's shoulder from behind just to get Jasper's mind off blood. That was all that was on Jasper's mind at the moment. Edward got a glimpse of Jasper's thoughts. He hated himself for making Jasper slip like he had. But Maria was too strong apparently even for Edward to handle...And Edward was going to stop his brother one way or another..

Yo Ho, haul together, Hoist the colours high, Heave Ho, Theives and Beggars, Never Shall We Die! Nothing really crossed Jasper's mind for a while, as he just livied on the instincts, looking for someone else to hunt, wanting more blood. So maybe it wasn't that nothing went through his mind, but that all sane thoughts were still gone. He just wanted the blood and more of it, he wasn't even thinking about the cost that came with human blood, the emotions that unhinged him, or the loss of human life. It didn't bother him that the blood that was his feast came from a human, who would of gone to prison. Besides, Maria's words had ordered him to kill. And would Maria want only one human dead when it meant more strength was given to her army?
Just then, there was a sound, and jasper growled, was it an enemy coming to take the blood from him, someone coming to threatern his mistress, Maria? The blood had to be kept safe, no one was going to steal it. Then there was a voice, closer, Jasper snarled, but the voice didn't seem bad. Jasper had a feeting memory of Peter, a good friend, the only true brother amoung the newborns he had lived with. The battle scarred vampire frowned, why would anyone want to stop him drinking? Especially if they were his 'brother'?
However, when Jasper felt a hand on his shoulder, he over-reacted. Leaping away, Jasper clutched the body and feel into a crouch, his eyes wild and blazing as he glared at the attack, a snarl erupting in his throat, warning them if they did not leave that he would kill them. The vamppire yearned for the blood and wanted to get straight back to it, eyeing the vampire cautiously, his teeth bared, he definantly lifted the body back to his lips and hurriedly drained it. This was his blood and no one was going to steal it from him.
Jasper was unable to recognise Edward, or why it was bad to kill humans, all the memories that went around him were from his days with maria, amoung the newborns, hunting humans. And he still wanted blood, it tasted so good and soothed his throat. Maria had always said that humans meant nothig, that they were just there for the taking. Jasper was stil in a protective crouch as he glared at the other vampire, ready to attack and kill at a moment's notice.
