109 ● VAMPIRE
personality:
Edward is a very complicated vampire. He tends to overreact easily, but has good intentions. He is a very deep thinker, and believes that he is an obstacle in the way of Bella Swan's life, only wishing to have her live out a normal life. He is not the happiest person himself - often calling himself a monster before naming any other adjective. His love for Bella runs deep and it is teaching him something that can never be learned in a textbook - love. He has almost constant mood swings; it just depends on the topic.
Edward easily hides his emotions and the things he thinks away from her, believing that hiding things will be better then speaking them, He however gets frustrated very easily, especially when dealing with Bella, but this may be because he can't read her mind. Most of the time he is rather calm and seems like he doesn't care, but he's actually a loving person who cares a lot about the people close to him. He worries constantly over Bella's safety. Edward lives with the fact that his thirst for Bella's blood will constantly plague him and he'd rather live with this than see her turn into a vampire.
When danger is affront, Edward tends to prefer to keep Bella in the dark, over telling her what truly is going on. It’s a sure way for him to attempt to keep her out of harms way, but it seems to only intrigue her, and more often than not she finds her own way into the situation merely to answer the questions that Edward refuses too. He also tends to put of his feeding till the last possible moment, to avoid spending less time with Bella than is required. So naturally seeing Bella in the arms of Jacob, who for all intents and purposes is his only rival, it hurts more than anything that he could have imagined. And if anything, Edward is conflicted. He desires Bella so, still madly in love with her and that fact that she chose Jacob over him, it stings painfully, but at the same time as hard as it is to admit he's happy for her. She's moved on and created a life for herself even if in truth she's only substituted one monster for another.
However it's his more darker feelings; the ones that lurk just beneath the surface whispering evil dark thoughts into his head and knowing now that he's the monster he spent so much time and energy trying to keep away from Bella and the shame of being unable to stop himself from taking that innocent's man's life that haunts Edward. Never mind the fact that his entire family is in danger because of a stupid move not only on his part, but Victoria's as well.

history:
Edward’s human life in Chicago was fairly happy and uneventful. His parents were moderately wealthy as his father was a successful lawyer. The biggest worry in his mother’s life was the fact that World War I was raging and Edward was only a year away from the draft, which had been lowered to 18 years of age in August of 1918. By September of that same year, the influenza epidemic hit, claiming the lives of both of Edward’s parents and very nearly taking his own as well. His attending physician was Carlisle Cullen, who saved him by changing him into a vampire. It was Edward’s mother who requested Dr. Cullen save Edward. She seemed to “know” that Carlisle could save him in a special way and begged him to do it.
Since that time, Edward has passed as Carlisle’s adopted son or as the younger brother of his wife before the family grew to its current size. He has been to medical school twice, but never practiced. He loves driving fast and collects cars as a hobby. From 1927 until 1931, Edward had a bout of rebellion and went off for a few years on his own away from Carlisle and Esme. He figured that he could drink off of humans if they were truly evil, using his special gifts to avoid the innocent. After a while, he couldn’t “escape the debt of so much human life taken, no matter how justified” and returned to Carlisle and Esme who welcomed him back with open arms. Around 1936, Edward moved to Forks with his family where they encountered the Quileute Indians who have the ability to transform into werewolves. A treaty was arranged stating that the wolves would leave the Cullens alone so long as they didn’t bite any humans and stay off of the Quileute land.
Soon Rosalie was introduced into the family, and Edward found himself more displeased than anything else. Their relationship was tense, and perhaps the most strained out of the siblings he acquired as a vampire. Emmett came next, and although he found this adoption to be something he could tolerate a bit more, he still remained bitter and a recluse with his lifestyle. The family left their location continued to move around, and then brought home Alice (whom Edward took to right away) and finally Jasper. The growing family soon picked up and moved again, unable to stay in one place for long, they returned to Forks in the year 2005. It was during their stay that Edward decided to attend school... again. It was mostly just to pass the time, and to perhaps help him feel more at home at Forks. The semesters went according to plan, and Edward excelled in almost every subject (he couldn't seem too perfect) However, given the beginning of a new year and new classes, Edward was faced with a girl who had just moved and was also part of his biology class. Isabella Swan was her name, and as soon as she sat herself down beside Edward, he realized he'd have to get away from her. The young man found himself 'uncontrollable' for lack of a better word, and unable to remain near her without being utterly overthrown by her scent. He becomes annoyed and angry at his inability to remain calm and thus gave her the cold shoulder for the remainder of the classes. He was in essence, intoxicated, something he had never dealt with before and so in his fright, fled to Alaska.
Edward did of course return after calming down and rationalizing that some girl was not going to drastically alter his life. Now use to the sudden surge of want, he was able to cope with Bella and found, throughout the weeks, that it wasn't only her scent that was intriguing. A few sentences here or there turned to lengthy conversations and soon Edward was making it a habit to at least converse with the girl once a day. His determination to stay collected and cool was shattered when he instinctively saved Bella from a fellow student's van that could have crushed her. His quick reflexes and agility left the girl questioning as to how it was possible for him to be there at the right second to save her life. Her suspicions forced him to crawl back into his little shell and he ignored her once again. This commitment does not last very long however, as Edward found himself unable to stay away from Bella. And so, against all odds, he gave in and allowed himself to spend time with the girl.
They became friends and for once, Edward felt at ease. The one thing that did bother him though (however it also attracted him to her) was the fact that he could not read her mind. It was a point that made the young man want to be with Bella and to figure her out. She gave him the challenge that had been lacking in his life. Their relationship bloomed and soon his attraction turned to love. Edward refused to leave Bella's side and found her to be the one thing in life he was waiting for. She quickly learned what he was however accepted it (much to his surprise and pleasure) and did not seem to see the consequences of dating a vampire as anything that concerned her greatly. However, being with a vampire left Bella vulnerable and while Edward was spending a day with her in the woods with his family (they'd been using the thunderstorm as a cover to place a challenging game of baseball), they were approached by a clan of nomad vampires. James, one of the three vampires present, realized that Bella was a human and it became a sort of game to him. He suddenly very interested in Bella, as Edward had moved to protect her an in essence challenging James. James instead vowed to kill Bella and did not go back on his word and the meeting led to a series of events which led Bella into near fatal results. Edward had to rush to Bella's side, while she was in hiding, and made the excruciatingly painful decision to drain her blood in order to remove the poison coursing through her body so she would live as a human. Once she recovered, Bella brings up the idea of being turned into a vampire, only to be refused by Edward.
While things with James had ended, and Edward had promised to stay with Bella, an unfortunate incident at her birthday party cements in Edward's mind that the only thing they're he and his family is doing by hanging around Forks is putting Bella in danger. Edward ultimately leaves Bella, after telling her that he doesn't want her anymore crushing the poor girl. Edward eventually cuts off all ties with his family and relocates to Italy, only calling once or so every month to check in as he'd promised Bella that her life would go back to how it had been if he'd never existed.
Edward's time in Italy was nothing short of empty as nothing really seemed to matter anymore. He'd left his heart back with Bella in Forks and no matter how hard he tried to convince himself otherwise - he could see that this entire plan had been stupid. Perhaps not the feelings and desires behind it, but leaving Bella alone had only crippled both of them he was sure. Even know he could still hear her screams echoing through the forest. It was times like these - due to his inability to sleep that it was the worse. So much so that Edward wasn't sure what to do about it. Provoking the Volturi into destroying him would have been easy, but Edward couldn't put Bella through that pain too. No that path would only happen should Bella leave this world. Then he'd gladly following her with hopes that the next life would be better.
Yet Edward never expected it to happen and it was only after learning the misguided truth that Bella had been killed, did Edward finally decide on his next course of action. His attempt at provoking the Volturi however was thwarted by Alice and Bella herself and upon realizing that Bella wasn't dead, Edward confessed that he'd lied to her. That he couldn't be without her and the three of them returned to Forks. The following months of the Italy disaster, saw a change in Edward and Bella's relationship. It was slowly changing, becoming more intense but it also made Edward realize just how much of a footing Jacob had with her now, due to his absence. That in itself began to aid in the rivalry between them, more than once pitting Bella between them. And while Edward loves Bella completely, he's promised himself that he'll never force her into anything against her will again. If that means Bella chooses Jacob over himself at some point, then he'll respect her wishes and let her go.
Things in Forks settled down, although the growing violence in Seattle left most of it's townspeople worried and agitated. And while it became clear that someone was creating an army of newborn vampires, the true culprit didn't reveal itself until it was almost too late. And upon learning that Victoria was amassing the army to get to Bella and Edward, the rivalry between the Cullen's and the Quileute tribe became a sort of temporary truce as they banned together to fight the growing threat. In the end, Victoria's newborn army was defeated, and the young newborn by the name of Bree Tanner joined the Cullen clan, after she was given a chance to prove herself by the Volturi and escape the fate woven by Victoria, when she sired her.
Despite the apparent win, there still seems to be another conflict speeding towards them, one that doesn't seem like it's going to be as simple as a walk in the park.

RP SAMPLE:
Why was it that whenever he seemed to be in a less than stellar mood something always seemed to bring him down further. It just seemed like there was his major huge black rain cloud following him around or something because short of having a broken heart, Edward couldn't shake this funk he seemed to be in. And it seemed to be growing larger and larger as the days went on. While he'd only been back in Forks for a couple days, Edward knew that Carlisle and Esme had left already, probably heading for Seattle. Most likely trying to find a trail of him.
Carlisle could probably do it, but Edward had gotten good at covering his tracks. Especially with the wolves around now, out for blood and no thanks to Victoria. The desire to kill that witch was twice what it had once been. Revenge was indeed a dish best served cold and while before he'd only been protecting Bella, now she'd gone and uprooted his entire coven. The people he was closest too. Destroyed the very foundation of his home and Edward wouldn't stand for that. As much as it killed him to admit it, Bella didn't really need him around anymore. She had her wolf to protect her and keep her from danger and the only thing that was keeping him from completely loosing his mind was knowing that Victoria was out there, and to make sure that his family was safe, he was going to hunt the bitch down and put an end to whatever game she was playing.
Of course that meant leaving Forks again, which wasn't an easy task to do. As much as Edward wanted to move on, he had problems doing so. He just wasn't about to give up his hold in Bella because Jacob thought he'd one. One way or another, Edward would at least get another chance with Bella. He didn't know when, how or where but he was sure of this. After all that had happened. Fate wouldn't be that cruel to rip her away from him again.
Gripping the steering wheel of his Lamborghini tightly but careful to not dent the wheel, Edward floored the gas pedal as he ripped threw the back area of Forks, not really caring about anything or any one at the moment. He used to do this al the time before he'd came back to Forks and met Bella. If anything it was his own form of escape. Just like writing and composing but lately anything he'd done had somehow ended up being another rendition of Bella's lullaby, so Edward had gone and switched out the ivory keys for speed, chrome, oil and gasoline.
