He has golden eyes, however, they will turn black when thirsty and if he drinks human blood they become crimson. Jasper generally does not care much for what he wears, as long as it is practical and does the job it was designed for. Being the second fastest, second strongest and best fighter when no powers are used, means that Jasper was seen by the wolves as one of the main threats when they were planning on destroying the Olympic Coven. It is said that Jasper's scars put other vampires off and are like a sign shouting danger. In the Twilight movie, he was described as 'The Blonde one who looks like he is in pain', this is due to the thirst for human blood. Jasper's style and actions are very military, due to how he was raised and he has been described as a Southern gentleman.

*Overall History: Jasper was born in the summer of 1843. When he was 16, almost 17, Jasper joined the Confederate army, he managed to get away with it by lying about his age, he was tall enough to get away with it. Due to his charisma (which later lead towards his empathy powers), Jasper was quickly promoted through the ranks over the more expirenced men. By the first battle, the battle of Galvestone, Jasper had been promoted to Major in Texas, and he was the youngest one, not even acknowledging his real age. Jasper was placed in charage of evacuating the woman and children and it took a day to prepare them. He lead them to Houston and after getting a fesh horse returned, there being too much work to do. It was then that he met Maria, Lucy and Nettie. At first, Jasper beleived them to be stragglers, but when he saw them, he knew that they weren't. Jasper did not move, even when Lucy spoke of killing him, due to the way he was brought up. Maria turned Jasper.
After the three days of pain from the transformation, Jasper was introduced to his new life as a soldier for Maria. He prooved useful in the fight, being faster than the other vampires and stronger. He often destroyed them and Maria rewarded him by giving him hunting trips for doing so well. This made him stronger. Maria decided to promote Jasper, due to his usefulness and he was put in charge of the newborns. This suited his personality as it was like he was being promoted and the death rate went down due to Jasper's empathy powers, which were of yet undefined. In his first battle, Jasper won and Maria was pleased about the win, which was significant. The way of life continued in a smilar style for Jasper, and he was the only one out of the original army he had pulled together to survive over the first 18 months. There were many more fihgts, including one against Lucy and Nettie (Jasper had been able to forwarn Maria due to their hostile emotions), which Jasper and Maria won Decades later, Jasper formed a friendship with a newborn called Peter, who he found to be more civilized. Peter prooved to be useful and Maria let him live longer than a year. Later, when dealing with the newborns over the year mark, Peter ran away with one of the newborns, Charlotte, with whom he loved. Jasper was punnished for this. After this, Jasper started to deteriate due to the emotions he felt from the endless killing. Maria started to become hostile towards jasper, just like Lucy and Nettie, so Jasper began preparing to destroy her. It was then that Peter came and explain about how a new life could be found up in the North. Jasper left without a second glance.
Jasper then started to live life as a nomad, although his emotions stillwere bombarded every time he fed. It was Peter who first made the connection, seeing that Jasper was always worse after he had hunted. They concluded that when he felt his prey's emotion, he remembered his life as a human, his last moments before Maria had turned him. Although peter and Charlotte where civilized, Jasper could not live with them and he left. It was later, in a diner in Phildelphia, that Jasper met Alice. At first he was wary of her approach and when she spoke to him, he 'ducked his head, like a good Southern gentleman and say"I'm sorry, ma'am"'. Alice offered her hand to Jasper and he took it without thinking, and 'for the first time in almost a century, he felt hope'. Alice explained to Jasper about what she had seen of Carlisle and together the two went searching for the Cullen family. When they found them, they accidentally scared Carlisle, Esme and Rosalie (Emmett and Edward being away on a hunting trip). Alice helped Jasper get aclimitized to this new life and they all lived together inn harmony, apart from the occasional slip ups and arguements.

How had this happened? The question rang over and over in Jasper's head as he stared at the corpse in front of him. Another human, another innocent killed, someone he didn't even know. Why? He had thought he had managed to master this life style, although not yet with the Cullens that Alice had seen, he had been trying to learn how to live like them. Never again did he want to have to kill another human, another person he did not know. For a year, he had been able to keep his eyes gold as they searched for the Cullens, why now? Why when Alice had predicted that they were coming closer to the family that would help them, help him... her visions had been getting closer and closer to the actual date and now, he had messed everything up.
Looking down, almost glaring, at the body, Jasper's mind was already working out how to dispose of the corpse infront of him. When the attack happened, he had been in the woods, hunting by himself, Alice had told him that it would be good if he hunted, although his eyes were not yet black, Jasper had still felt the thirst then. It stilled ached at his throat when she had told him to hunt. The woman had been walking across the path and the night air was still, and then a light breeze blew the scent towards him, freezing in place, he had tried desperatly not to go and attack the woman, but that failed, he felt his body moving without throught. Then, everything was dreadful. Apart from the blood. Her scream had meant nothing to him, the emotions she had felt where only now beginging to effect him. And the blod had been lovely, the best taste in the world.
Jasper closed his eyes and concentrated on something else, not wanting to remember how much he had enjoyed the blood. The emotions he was now feeling was something he had felt before, over and over again. He could see it, in his mind's eyes, his last human night. The emotions that went over him as he saw Maria, Lucy and Nettie. The wonder at their beauty, the strange fear and came with it. The pain of Maria's teeth digging into his human skin. But then things branched off differently. The woman had an end, everything had gone out for her. But for him it was different. Three days of pain, and then life as an immortal monster. Alice had saved him, brought him a new life, a new hope. And now... what? He had betrayed her, he had betrayed the family she foresaw them meeting, he had failed.
Sighing, heavily, Jasper picked up the corpse easily and moved it over the a rock pile a few hundred metres up the woodland path. Then, he created an avalanche and let the stones cruch the corpse's body. With that done, Jasper considered heading back to camp, to Alice. It wasn't right to leave a lady out in the forest, unguarded, unprotected. But would his own arrival be protecting her? What was he, but a mosnter? Jasper closed his eyes and considered the options. He could not leave Alice, he felt a strange new emotion that made him attached to her, something he had never felt before. But his presance could not be good. After a while of weighing up his options, Jasper made up his mind. Opening his now crimson eyes, he set off, to head back to Alice.
