Who said you couldn't go to the beach when it was cold? When you were an emancipated adult, you didn't have to follow rules laid out by your parents. No, you got to do what you wanted when you wanted to do it. So Artemis was going to the beach. Nothing was holding her back. So all she had to do was get up.
Artemis sighed and pushed away from her English paper she had been working on. Finally she decided to get out of her pajamas and dress. It was Saturday and not raining. Sure it was a bit chilly, but that could be dealt with. So she dressed in a cute little ensemble and grabbed her keys before going into the garage and climbing into the fresh new Lamborghini that had been purchased the day before. She had three different cars. An SUV, the Lambo and a Ferarri Gallardo. She had aways admired sleek imported sports cars. Now she owned two. The SUV was for more rugged terrain that needed a higher vehicle. The beach wasn't in that qualification.
She backed out the garage, pressed the button to shut it and clicked the button to open the wrought iron gate that made a perimeter around her home. When it was fully open Artemis drove out and clicked the button to close it back. It was fully closed before she drove off and down the road.
Ever since her parents died, Artemis was big on security. She didn't want her ex to show up again. He was never found. Never arrested. So he could still find her. So the gate had a code to input unless you had the clicker, her security system on the house was the best you could get. She would not skimp on the piece of mind that she was safe. That was something she couldn't afford to cut corners on.
The beach was empty when Artemis parked in the lot. No one was out surfing, no camp fires going. No one. Awesome. She sighed as she killed the engine and got out of the car before setting the alarm and sliding the keys into her pocket. The sand gave as she walked towards the water. But she stopped a few feet back making sure it wouldn't get her wet. She stood there watching out with her hands in her pockets as the breeze gently blew the brunette hair that hung out of her hat. Her cheeks and nose were a light pink as she smiled and breathed in the air. This was peaceful.
