Rachel’s feet moved slowly across the cement sidewalk as her mind wandered. It was a warm day for March. The sun, however, was still hidden by the murky grey clouds that seemed to always be in the sky. This of course caused the air to be heavy around Rachel. It was for this reason she was moving so slowly. She was wondering where she could go. Her guitar was at her back as usual and she knew the park would be full of children. But she did that every day. She wanted to change things up a bit today. Her eyes then shifted suddenly from the ground in front of her to the forested area to her left. She could hear the movement of water somewhere in that direction. Grinning Rachel turned and followed the sound of the water.
Coming out of the trees, Rachel found herself in front of a large, beautiful lake. To one side she saw large rocks jutting up, perfect for jumping off of. On the other side there was a sandy bank, that, if it was sunny, would be the perfect place for tanning. Laughing a little to herself Rachel quickly climbed the rocks. Once at the top she removed her guitar from her back and say with it for a moment. Her fingers strummed lightly on the strings as she kicked her cowboy boots off. Her feet were bare and she set them flat on the rock with her knees bent. Rachel rested her chin on the edge of her guitar as she stared out at the trees. This place seemed so peaceful. She liked it. Her mind became set that she would have to visit it more often. Dropping her legs against the rock she began to play her guitar. She didn’t sing but just let the sound of the strings mix with nature.
A few minutes later Rachel removed her guitar from her body and placed it gently on the rock next to her. It was her older guitar so it was somewhat beat up but she still cared for it. Hopping up she wiggled out of her jean shorts and tugged her grey tank top over her head. Under her clothes she wore a white bikini with butterflies on it. She had awoken this morning with the intent to swim; she just hadn’t planned on finding this lake. Moving to the edge of the rock she looked down at the water. Breathing out slowly, she dove in.
The water was cool as it met her warm skinned body. It was days like these that she almost, almost, disliked being ‘cursed’. She would never give up what she was now though. Coming to the surface she brushed her blonde hair from her face. Looking around she was glad to see the area still empty. Flipping over she floated around on her back for a while. Getting bored after a time Rachel dove down to see how deep the lake was. It was as she was doing this that her foot became tangled in the vines that grew up from the bed of the lake. Shaking her foot to get rid of them only caused her foot to become more tangled. Rachel’s heartbeat began to race as she slowly realized she was stuck and would soon, be out of air.

Kenny's family had been busy today; way to busy to pay any attention to him. He took this chance to roam on his own without being bugged by them. His father had to go to work while his brothers didn't say what their plans were. Renato had told them he would bring blood back home because they were running out again. Kenny was just glad they weren't all completely newborn anymore; they drank to much. It wasn't easy dealing with the three of them as newborns all at once. Often had to literally throw them around. Thinking back on the memories made him laugh but then it was just very unfortunate and annoying.
Despite not having anything to do he thought of meeting up with Logan to take her somewhere nice. The movies always worked fine for a date but Kenny always had different versions of dates in mind. Usually something uncommon or unique like ice skating or the beach. Amusement parks even though those didn't offer much time alone. They were great for an excitement binge, however.
Grabbing his hat and phone he set off into the forest for a hunt. Animals blood never had his taste bud likings but at least his younger vampire family would have something. That is, if Mason and Ash returned home before their father did. Kenny ran through the forest with ease dodging trees, logs, bushes, and other sorts of plants. The weather had been warm although with the smell of rain in the air. That smell wasn't unfamiliar, however. This part of the country was bad with the weather. Always raining or cold but a great place for a vampire to fit in more with the humans. He was pretty sure the Olympic coven come here some years back exactly for the reason, less sun.
He gave a fake breath out as he jumped onto a tree. He pushed off from it to grab a hold of another. He repeated this quiet a few times helping him make his way through the forest. He stayed on a trail of a deer being careful to stalk it without noise or being seen. The animal knew something was wrong though because of the smell all vampires have. The scent that was so intoxicating to the humans. Acting as quick as he could, he hopped down from the trees to tackle it down. It wasn't long before the deer was dry.
Kenny caught the scent of something else though. Something that smelt familiar to a wereleopard like Logan. Only it wasn't Logan and the scent varied differently. Curious, he started tracking it. The trail led him to a lake that he had been to often in the forest of Forks. His eye looked around trying to spot a person but there wasn't anyone only a guitar. The scent stopped though. There wasn't a trail that told him the person left. Confused he focused on his hearing hoping that maybe the heartbeat would help. The heartbeat came from under the lakes water. He watched for a moment thinking the person would soon surface. The beating only increased though. Acting quick, the vampire jumped off the rocks and into the coolness of the water. His sight was very clear considering the muskiness that surrounded him. It was times like this he was thankful for the abilities of a vampire. When the girl come into view he noted the plant tangled around her was stopping her from being able to swim away.
It wasn't hard for him to rip up the vines so she could be free but by that time she wasn't making her way up. She was barely moving. Groaning, he grabbed her and within a second he had her laying on the ground with his hands hovering over her chest, trying to heal her. He hoped his healing power would be enough to make the water in her lungs come up on its own.
